The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Is Here, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo alongside Illumination released the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the forthcoming animated feature.
The follow-up to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this new installment will send Mario to the far corners of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a new princess and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
An Interstellar Journey Inspired by Iconic Releases
In the vein of the Wii-era games that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. Throughout his extensive trek, he will meet again some familiar faces, including the Luma, a breakout star from the previous film.
Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who seemingly utilizes powers related to metal. Worth mentioning, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not exclusively centered on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

A Significant Period for Mario
The upcoming Mario film is scheduled to arrive close to the 40th anniversary of the first Super Mario Bros. title. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a major period for Mario and his friends.
Nintendo has three new games already confirmed for that year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a release on Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
