Trio Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.
The event will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being nominated for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
